Hunt saboteur driven at on Hampshire Hunt 19 October 2002 A supporter of the Hampshire Hunt tried to run down a sab in a field near Long Sutton on 19 October. The reckless idiot drove his Discovery at a group of 5 sabs calling hounds away from a fox. He singled out one for particular attention and tried to mow him down. In a chilling scenario reminiscent of how 2 sabs have died and how Steve Christmas was maimed for life, the sab almost went under the wheels of the vehicle. Had he not rolled out of the way we could have been mourning another sab. The sequence below taken from a video gives you an idea of how close it was.
A SABS spokesperson said "When you consider that 2 saboteurs have already died under the wheels of hunt vehicles, it puts these attacks into perspective. When they marched in London, and on numerous other occasions, hunt supporters have been spotted wearing t-shirts bearing the slogan 'BORN TO HUNT, READY TO FIGHT!'. We now have a clear indication of what this means." Hunt saboteur Steve Christmas has been permanently injured and nearly died when he was driven over bya 4 wheel drive vehicle in a field near a cubbing meet of the Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent Hunt on 1 Sept 2000. |
